Sports Injuries
Nobody wants to be told to give up their sport. Hearing this when you’ve just been injured is receiving a kick whilst you’re down.
This is why Gloucester Chiropractors will never tell anybody to stop doing what they love. Our role is to help people maintain activity.
Our chiropractors will do everything within their power to get you back playing as quickly as possible and to help you stay on top of your game.
How Our Chiropractors Can Help
Our chiropractors are keen amateur athletes themselves, with a background covering a number of different sports. This helps them to understand the demands you are experiencing and to come up with strategies to assist with recovery and prevention of sport-specific injuries.
Our chiropractors also have a range of sports qualifications, from National Academy of Sports Medicine accreditation to post-graduate diplomas in football medicine. They also hold a number of coaching qualifications across several sports.
Our chiropractors have worked with athletes from just about every sporting background imaginable; from veteran ultra-marathon runners preparing for world-record breaking runs to professional rugby players returning to play after surgery.
In addition to working with athletes who present to our clinic, our chiropractors’ services have been employed by ice hockey teams, rowing clubs and elite dance schools.
Treatment Methods Offered
Because all athletes are slightly different no sports injury is exactly alike. For this reason, any sports-injury treatment needs to be tailored to each individual.
Our chiropractors are able to dip into a large tool-box to be able to pick and combine the best treatment methods to suit any particular needs.
Our chiropractors offer manipulation, sports-taping, soft-tissue release, instrument assisted soft-tissue work, joint mobilisation and adjustment, and many other techniques.
In addition to a range of manual therapies, our chiropractors are experts in rehabilitation. They understand that rehabilitation for athletes is different to that required for most people. They will work with you to get you back to where you were before your injury and to prevent recurrence.
Being able to assist athletes on to higher levels is a gratifying aspect of being an independent clinic, where the sky is the limit in terms of how far you can go.
